Kirk Rice Team In The Halow250 Charity CycleWritten on April 11, 2018 by Kirk Rice LLP

Kirk Rice Team In The Halow250 Charity Cycle

On 4 May 2018 a team of Kirk Rice partners, staff and friends will be embarking on a 3 day charity cycle trip to raise money for the Guildford based charity the halow project. In addition to Kirk Rice LLP sponsoring the event, our team are hoping to raise a minimum of £5,000.

The aim of the halow project is to create opportunities and support young people with a learning disability so that they are able to live independent, meaningful, fulfilled lives and become integrated into their local community. Halow offers a unique blend of activities, giving young people the chance to enjoy an active social life, make new friends, find further educational and employment training through their various initiatives like Building Futures, social events and the halow care Buddy service.

Over 100 riders will take part in the 250 mile charity cycle ride leaving the Kings Head in Roehampton on 4 May with just 80 miles on day one. Day one will finish in Portsmouth where the team will take the overnight ferry to St Malo. On day 2, the team will cycle from St Malo to Caen before taking the overnight ferry back to Portsmouth. The final leg, on day 3, takes the riders along a 55 mile route from Portsmouth to Guildford where they will be greeted by friends and family to celebrate their fantastic achievement and the fund raised for the halow project.

One of our riders, Graham Jennings, Kirk Rice Partner commented;

‘Our passion to support the halow project has created a team of 5 colleagues and friends including our novice who volunteered before he realised that he ‘ll need a bike. Now the enormity of the challenge, 250 miles, is dawning on us all as we cycle through our training rides in the winter air. Your donation will spur us on through whatever the weather throws our way so we can complete the challenge. It will make so much difference to the young people who are helped by the team at Halow. ‘

If you would like to sponsor the Kirk Rice team in the charity cycle and help them to exceed their target amount please visit their Virgin Money Giving page.

Many thanks in advance for your generosity.
