BREXIT: The Impact On The UK And The EUWritten on June 15, 2016 by Peter Sharratt

I recently came across this report from the Global Counsel which I found to be very informative. It is detailed (total of 44 pages, every one interesting) and at times a bit technical but well worth a read whatever your views.

It was published June 2015 but is still very relevant today and it considers the impact of a Leave Vote on the UK but also the impact to the rest of the EU.  One piece of information that I found particularly interesting (page 12) is that ‘half of all European headquarters of non-EU Firms are in the UK, with the UK hosting more HQs than Germany, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands put together’.

The Global Counsel was founded in 2010 and it helps business’s anticipate the way politics, regulation and public policymaking create both risk and opportunity.  The author of the report is Dr Gregor Irwin who is their Chief Economist.  For more about the Global Counsel and a brief summary of Dr Irwins impressive CV please see page 2 of the report.
